The Avon Foundation has been improving and saving women’s lives since it was founded in 1955, and we are proud to be the largest corporate philanthropy dedicated to women’s causes globally. Today our mission is focused on breast cancer and domestic violence, as well as emergency and disaster relief, touching lives across the country and around the world. Through 2011, Avon global philanthropy has raised and donated more than $860 million worldwide.
Avon Breast Cancer Crusade
The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade was launched in 1992 as a small pioneering program in the U.K. Avon in the U.S. adopted the Crusade the following year. Over the last 19 years, Avon philanthropy has raised and donated over $740 million to breast cancer programs around the world, supporting cutting-edge research to find a cure for or prevent breast cancer as well as programs that enable all patients to access quality care. Funding supports awareness and education: screening and diagnosis; access to treatment; support services; and scientific research. Beneficiaries of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade range from leading cancer research and clinical centers to community-based, non-profit breast health education programs.

Speak Out Against Domestic Violence
One in four women in the U.S. will become a victim of abuse or partner violence in her life. Teens and young women experience the highest rates of relationship violence and partner abuse. To help end this devastating cycle, Speak Out Against Domestic Violence was launched in 2004 to build awareness, to educate, and to develop and implement prevention and direct service programs.
Funds and visibility are raised through the sale of special
Speak Out and Empowerment fundraising products and Public Service Announcements. Through the end of 2011, in the U.S. alone, we have provided more than $28 million for the domestic violence cause.
Emergency Relief
As global corporate citizens, Avon Products, Inc. and the Avon Foundation for Women together respond quickly to national and international emergencies. Since 2001 nearly $23 million has been awarded for women and their families affected by natural disasters, including: response after the attacks of September 11, 2001; assistance for military service personnel lost or wounded in Iraq and other armed conflicts; and campaigns to assist victims of the tsunami in southeast Asia; Hurricanes Katrina and Rita; and earthquake victims in China, and Haiti.
