Breast Health Outreach Program

The Avon Foundation Breast Health Outreach Program supports community-based organizations to provide outreach and breast health education, and to connect women and men to screening services and follow-up care in partnership with local medical providers.

Applications are reviewed by a panel of up to 30 peers from a broad range of breast cancer and related backgrounds, including medical professionals, public health experts and directors of community health programs. Reviewers are selected on a competitive basis from communities throughout the United States, including those where Avon Foundation fundraising events are held.

Funding is awarded on a competitive basis to organizations that can successfully implement breast cancer early detection programs that include breast health education, regular mammography screening, clinical breast examination (CBE), and breast self-examination (BSE) for at-risk, medically underserved women 40 and older.

Application to the Avon Foundation Breast Health Outreach Program is closed for 2011.

The next Request For Proposals will be posted to www.avonbhop.org on or about July 15, 2012. Funding will be awarded on a competitive basis to organizations that can successfully implement breast cancer early detection programs for at-risk, medically underserved women age 40 and older.

For more information, potential applicants and those interested in serving as reviewers should refer to the information posted at www.avonbhop.org or send an inquiry to admin@avonbhop.org or call 212.244.5368.
